The Schwab didn\'t become the king of sports trivia overnight. A native of Baldwin, N.Y., and a veteran of the sports industry for almost a quarter century, The Schwab has logged time in the worlds of print, radio and television, accumulating massive amounts of sports knowledge every step of the way.
Back in the day (the early \'80s), The Schwab served as the editor-in-chief of College & Pro Football News Weekly and was a contributor to Jodie Mac\'s radio show on WFAN in New York.
The Schwab hooked on with ESPN in 1987 as a freelance researcher and was quickly signed on full-time. By 1995, he had risen through the ranks in Bristol and became the coordinating producer for ESPN.com.
Since 1998, The Schwab has held it down as the coordinating producer, studio production - a position that has him doing everything from working on the Dan Patrick Radio Show to providing the stats and facts used by the network\'s broadcasters and personalities. And all of the ridiculous facts and "Did You Knows?" on SportsCenter every night-all from the mind of The Schwab.
He has been immersed in sports factoids for so long and the breadth of his knowledge is so great, it no longer does him justice to refer to him as Howie; he has moved beyond that.
